I woke up at what I believe was 5am for this Provincetown engagement session photography. And while that may seem crazy to most, when I look at these images, I know that I made the right choice. As Christine and I were back and forth on the planning of this shoot, we were continuously checking the weather forecast and when it looked as though it may rain for the entire day with the exception being 8am, I knew that I would hop in the car before dawn to beat the clouds. And even though the rain decided instead to be unpredictable – it poured just before I crossed the canal – it remained mostly at bay until the moment I put my gear in the car to head home. Christine and Paul were so great and rather than crying about the mist, they danced in the rain and the fun and love they share together really carried us all through. These are what I feel to be some of the warmest and truest photos that I’ve captured of the emotions of two people so deeply in love. I’m so incredibly happy that we didn’t let the idea of a bit of weather stop the shoot. Provincetown is such a wonderful setting for an engagement session and it’s amazing how rain can really clear out a beach. Christine and Paul and the ocean all came together to make this shoot phenomenal.
