Wedding Photography

Frequently Asked Questions

How far in advance should we inquire?

As early as you can. Nantucket weekends and peak-season dates book about 9-16 months ahead, but I’m always happy to hear from couples and planners that appreciate my work and would like to work together. Send your information through the contact page, and I’ll let you know if I’m available.

How do I reserve my wedding date?

Following your inquiry and my confirmation of availability, we will schedule time to have a conversation about your style, preferences and wedding day vision. Once you decide to move forward, a signed agreement and a retainer secure your date.

Where do you photograph weddings?

I’m based in Boston and photograph weddings across New England, including Nantucket, Cape Cod, and the Berkshires, as well as East Hampton, Palm Beach and destinations.

Do you photograph on film, digital, or both?

I always offer a combination of film and digital leaning heavily towards film. Film has a timeless quality that captures the narrative in a way that exhibits how I watch events unfold throughout the day, while digital gives added flexibility in low light and fast-moving moments.

Is film included in my collection?

Film processing, scanning and editing is fully included in all collections with no additional fee.

How long until I receive my photographs?

Fully edited collections are typically delivered within 6-8 weeks.

What is your investment?

Wedding collections begin at $8,000. I am always happy to create custom collections for multi-day weddings and destination celebrations.

Do you charge for travel?

I love traveling for weddings, and coverage within 60 miles of Boston is included at no extra cost. For destinations beyond that, a travel fee applies to cover expenses like transportation and lodging. Once I know your venue, I’ll include an exact travel estimate in your proposal so there are no surprises.

How many hours of coverage do I need?

Most couples choose coverage from the final stages of preparation/getting ready through the reception. I’m happy to help develop a timeline that covers the most significant moments of your day and that beautiful golden hour light before sunset.

Do you work with a second photographer?

I regularly work with a number of very talented photographers and require a second photographer be added to all weddings with a guest count above 200.

How will I receive my images, and can I print them?

Your photographs are delivered through a private online collection available to your for 6 months. Through this online gallery, you can download high resolution and web resolution images with full printing rights. Additionally you can purchase prints directly through the shop that is also included in the online collection.

Do you offer albums and prints?

I develop albums from October-April and the option to purchase can be included in the initial wedding package or purchased separately through the online gallery.

Prints and products are also available for purchase through the online gallery.

Do you photograph welcome dinners, rehearsals, and after-parties?

Yes. Many couples would like their entire weekend documented, and I love photographing the events around the wedding. On Nantucket that has included welcome gatherings such as a welcome dinner at Bartlett’s Farm and a welcome party at the Chanticleer.

What happens if the weather changes our plans?

Unpredictable weather is often the uninvited guest of coastal New England weddings, and some of the most memorable days involve flexibility and a change of plans. When severe weather moved one Nantucket wedding from a private estate to the Sconset Casino at the last minute, the event went off without a hitch and an incredible time was had by all. You can view that gallery here. I stay flexible and work closely with your planner and venue to ensure a portfolio of images that are calm and unhurried, whatever the forecast.

Do you work with wedding planners and other vendors?

Always. I enjoy collaborating with planners, florists, and venue teams, and I’m happy to share timeline suggestions that help the story of your wedding day fully align with your vision.

Do you photograph engagements and family sessions?

Yes. I photograph proposals, engagements and families on film and digital in Boston, throughout New England and destinations as well. Reach out through the contact page to plan a session.
